Join us for an unforgettable night celebrating NCCAkron's 10th Anniversary on June 20, 2026, with Dance Party Through the Decades featuring music through the decades, electrifying dance floor vibes, and the magic of moving together in community!
This event features dance music from the past 50 years spun by all-vinyl DJ Forrest Getemgump, Country/Hip Hop line dancing instruction led by Ronni of Vibe & Sweat, emcee Will Blake, an open bar, light bites, a disco ball photo booth, and plenty of time on the dance floor.
Dancing Lab Open Application Now Open
MoBBallet (Memoirs of Blacks in Ballet) and The National Center for Choreography-Akron (NCCAkron) invites writers to submit an application to attend the Dancing Lab: Oasis Dance Journal from July 13-17, 2026. Participants will workshop and explore the role, responsibilities and relevance of dance writing in a shifting landscape.
During this Dancing Lab, Oasis Dance Journal will showcase critique and commentary that reflect the evolution and advancement of the dance field through culturally competent and equitable coverage. The power and responsibility that dance writing holds should honor the multiplicity and full spectrum of the field, from genre to culture. It must strive to be as expansiv
